Rare 19th Century Porcelain Door Push

This is a cool item that just finished on eBay for over $1000.

It’s a Porcelain Door Push for Weisenberger Mills. It’s a nice yellow background with a well decorated flour sack featuring a great horse with advertising copy. Even with a bullet hole through the top of the push it still sold for $1,027.99!

These early door pushes always do well, I think people love them not just for the decoration, but the portability as well. You can enjoy these little guys all by yourself and you don’t need an entire wall to display them, so I guess it’s not always size that matters… wink wink.
